The Making of Station Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena

K. Rouw, J. Huisman, E. Pieters, V. Joseph First published in 2008

Until just over thirty years ago, Amsterdam's Bijlmer Station was little more than a combined halt for railway and metro on a grassy embankment, modest in its dimensions and style. the large new Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA Station which now occupies the same spot is the lively middle point, both day and night, of a dynamic urban district. The folded shape of the steel, wood and glass roof, measuring 200 metres from end to end, has already become a familiar silhouette. This book covers the development of the project from two tracks to six.
