Neil Stonell BA(Hons), DipArch, RIBA, ARB

Partner

Neil joined Grimshaw in 1997 and was made a Partner in 2007, relocating to Melbourne, Australia in 2002 to help deliver the practice’s first Australian project. Neil’s significant projects are Paddington Station Redevelopment in London, Rolls Royce Headquarters and Manufacturing Plant in Goodwood, the Yarra Pedestrian Bridge, Melbourne, and he jointly led the delivery of Southern Cross Station, which was awarded the RAIA National Urban Design Award and the RIBA Lubetkin Prize.

He has experience across a range of building sectors including commercial offices, industrial projects and educational facilities and is currently leading the design and delivery of the Peter Doherty Institute, a teaching, research and public health centre to create a new world-class national capability in infectious diseases for the University of Melbourne. Neil also has significant experience in transport and infrastructure and is responsible for developing the Australian transport portfolio.

Neil has proven his ability to lead large teams on complex projects to create award winning outcomes though the rigorous pursuit of elegant, functional design. He is a registered architect in the UK and Australia.
